Enrolment Information
Realus Education Student Enrolment Policy
1. Scope and Definitions
This Policy applies to all courses offered by Realus Education.
Definitions:
- “Term”: A fixed academic teaching period.
- “Standard Rate”: The non-discounted tuition fee per class.
2. Enrolment and Payment Confirmation
- Students must complete full payment upon enrolment. Enrolment is confirmed only when payment has been received or verified by finance.
- Accepted payment methods: Bank transfer, credit/debit card, WeChat Pay, Alipay, or cash. For bank transfers, the student’s full name and student ID must be clearly indicated in the payment reference.
- Payment deadline: On the class day, only card or cash payments are accepted. Bank transfers must be received at least one business day in advance. Unverified payment slips do not reserve a seat.
- Seat reservation and materials: Tuition payment confirms seat allocation and enables material preparation. Failure to pay in full before the deadline may result in seat cancellation without further notice.
- Payment failure or rejection: In case of payment failure due to insufficient balance, declined card, or other causes, Realus reserves the right to suspend enrolment until payment is completed and may charge actual banking fees incurred.
3. Tuition Prepayment Requirement
Due to variations in curriculum design across different year levels, students are required to prepay the corresponding tuition fees before the commencement of classes:
- Year 12 students: must prepay tuition fees for at least 20 weeks of classes, with a total of 40 weeks for the full academic year.
- Students in other year levels: must prepay tuition fees for at least one full term.
- For mid-term enrolments: if fewer than five (5) lessons remain in the current term, students must enrol and pay for both the remaining lessons and the following term together to ensure learning continuity and class progress alignment.
This policy ensures the stability of class scheduling, teaching allocation, and material preparation. Realus Education reserves the right to cancel enrolment or class attendance for students who fail to make timely payment. Refund and class transfer arrangements are detailed in Clause 9: Refund Policy.
4. Fees and Invoices
- Each course includes a non-refundable registration fee of AUD 100 (GST inclusive).
- Invoice entity: First Education & Publications Pty Ltd (trading as Realus Education).
5. Attendance and Check-In
Students must complete check-in before each class to confirm attendance. Consistent attendance is essential to maintain learning progress and ensure the accuracy of AI-driven performance tracking. Every Realus class follows a standard closed-loop process-Preparation → Classroom Delivery → AI Follow-up. Each lesson’s attendance directly affects the system’s ability to analyse learning gaps, recommend targeted practice, and provide personalised progress reports.
Absence from class may interrupt this cycle, resulting in incomplete understanding, reduced AI data accuracy, and lower overall learning efficiency. Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons and arrive on time. In case of unavoidable absence, parents or guardians must notify the campus in advance to adjust the teaching and AI task schedule.
Repeated lateness or prolonged absence may lead to suspension of classes or reallocation to a different group.
6. Leave and Rescheduling
- More than 24 hours’ notice: Students may request transfer to an equivalent class (subject to seat availability and scheduling). If unavailable, recorded lessons and materials will be provided.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: Recorded lesson and materials will be provided by default.
- Medical or emergency leave: Recorded lesson and materials will be provided by default.
7. Absence and Make-Up Lessons
Absence does not exempt payment. Recorded lessons and materials will be provided within three (3) business days. This ensures continuity of learning and enables the AI system to recalibrate practice accurately.
8. Class Transfer Policy
Students may apply to transfer to another class or subject of the same course type (e.g., group class or one-on-one course). If the new course fee is higher, the student must pay the difference; if lower, the balance will be credited to the e-wallet for future enrolments or material purchases. All transfers must be approved by the Campus Administration Office and completed before the new class commences.
9. Refund Policy
- Before course commencement: Each course includes a non-refundable registration fee of AUD 100. For students enrolled in multiple courses (e.g., Mathematics and English), the registration fee will be deducted per course (i.e., AUD 200 for two courses, and so on). After deducting the registration fee and the cost of any materials already provided, the remaining amount will be refunded in full.
- After course commencement: Refunds apply only to the enrolled course and will not be accepted for absences, leave requests, or postponed attendance. Completed lessons will be charged at the standard rate, and after deducting all issued materials and the AUD 100 registration fee, 80% of the unused tuition fees will be refunded. The remaining 20% covers administrative, scheduling, and resource allocation costs already incurred. If a student re-enrols in the same course after receiving a refund, it will be treated as a new enrolment, and a new non-refundable registration fee of AUD 100 will apply.
- Pre-recorded video courses: Once sold, access is considered provided and non-refundable. If the course contains major technical faults or material misrepresentation, Realus will offer a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
- Processing time: Refunds will be processed via the original payment method within 10 business days.
10. Course Adjustments and Cancellations
- Course cancellation by the school: Any unused tuition fees will be refunded within 10 business days via the original payment method.
- Course adjustments (time/location/teacher):
Due to scheduling, teacher changes, venue usage, or other operational needs, Realus reserves the right to adjust the class time, venue, or teacher. Students will be notified in advance via WeChat, SMS, email, or App. Equivalent teaching quality will be ensured. Such adjustments constitute normal educational operations and do not amount to breach of contract or grounds for compensation.
11. Electronic Wallet Validity
Electronic wallet credits arising from adjustments, refunds, or other reasons must be used within 12 months (365 days) of the credit date. Expired balances will automatically become invalid and are non-extendable, non-transferable, and non-refundable. By clicking “Accept and Continue”, the parent/guardian and student acknowledge and accept this clause.
12. Photography, Video and Privacy
By clicking “Accept and Continue”, the parent or guardian consents for Realus Education to reasonably use student photos, videos, or audio materials for teaching management and educational presentation purposes, including but not limited to class recordings, teacher training, website or social media publications, printed materials, and public events.
Realus will ensure that such materials are used in compliance with relevant laws and privacy regulations, without harming student image or interests. If a parent wishes to withdraw consent, a written request may be submitted. Realus will cease new use and remove any media within its reasonable control.
13. Course Materials and Usage
All printed or digital materials, workbooks, and recorded links are for the exclusive use of the enrolled student. Sharing, copying, reselling, or any commercial use is strictly prohibited.
Students are responsible for any losses caused by account sharing or leakage. Realus may suspend accounts and pursue legal action where necessary.
14. Feedback and Complaints
For suggestions or complaints, please contact the student support team via email or phone. Realus will respond within three (3) business days with a resolution plan.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Policy is governed by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and applicable state legislation.
In case of dispute, both parties shall first attempt good-faith negotiation. Failing agreement, either party may seek resolution through legal channels.
16. Interpretation and Amendments
Without limiting any rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), First Education & Publications Pty Ltd retains the right to interpret, revise, and implement this Policy and its detailed provisions.
Where conflicts arise between this Policy and applicable law, the law shall prevail.
The school may reasonably amend this Policy as required for operational or compliance reasons and will provide notice prior to implementation.
17. Notice and Effectiveness
Any official notice delivered by WeChat, SMS, email, or App shall be deemed validly served. Students must maintain accurate contact details at all times.
18. Severability
If any provision of this Policy is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
19. Special Terms for Personalised One-on-One and Small-Group Courses
-
Scope
These special terms apply to the “Personalised One-on-One” and “Small-Group” courses offered by Realus Education. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the general terms above, these special terms shall prevail. -
Enrolment and Validity
Each one-on-one course requires a minimum enrolment of five (5) lessons per subject, and each small-group course requires at least ten (10) lessons per enrolment. The validity period for each subject begins from the first lesson date: for enrolments of ten (10) lessons or fewer, the course must be completed within “the number of lessons plus one (1) week”; for enrolments of eleven (11) to twenty (20) lessons, the course must be completed within “the number of lessons plus two (2) weeks.” Any unused lessons beyond the validity period will automatically expire and are non-extendable, non-transferable, and non-refundable. -
Trial Lesson
Students may apply for one (1) trial lesson. The trial lesson is charged at the same rate as a regular lesson and includes the same teaching services and materials. -
Delivery Mode
Students may choose either face-to-face or live online classes. Once confirmed, the selected delivery mode shall remain fixed throughout the course and cannot be changed midway. -
Leave and Rescheduling
Students who wish to take leave or reschedule must notify both the academic coordinator and the teacher at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance and obtain confirmation.
One (1) reschedule is permitted per five (5) lessons.
If notification is given less than twenty-four hours before the class or if the student is absent without notice, the lesson will be deemed completed and fully charged. -
Transfer Between Subjects or Teachers
Students may apply to transfer between subjects or change teachers. Any price difference shall be paid or refunded accordingly, and the change will take effect from the next scheduled lesson after administrative confirmation. -
Registration and Material Fees
Each course includes a non-refundable registration fee of AUD 100. For students enrolled in multiple courses, the registration fee will be deducted per course (e.g., AUD 200 for two courses).
All issued textbooks, handouts, and learning materials are non-refundable. -
Refund Policy
- Before course commencement: The remaining balance will be refunded after deducting the registration fee for each course and the cost of any materials already provided.
- After course commencement:
- If four (4) or more lessons remain, 80% of the remaining tuition fees will be refunded after deducting the registration fee for each course and the cost of any materials provided.
- If three (3) or fewer lessons remain, no refund will be issued.
- For discounted enrolments, completed lessons will be recalculated at the standard rate before applying the refund rule above.
- School-initiated cancellation: If the course is cancelled by Realus Education, a full refund of the remaining lessons will be provided.
- Refund process: Students must submit a formal refund application form. Billing will cease from the date the school receives the application. Refunds will be processed within ten (10) business days via the original payment method.
-
Recorded Lessons and ACL Compliance
If a personalised course includes recorded or online-access content, the service is deemed delivered once access is provided, and no refund will be available.
In cases of major technical faults or material misrepresentation, Realus Education will offer repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
